Digital restorations
More about this serviceWhat is CEREC?
CEREC (“Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics”) is a computer-aided method for making ceramic restorations directly in the dental practice. A digital scan captures the teeth in three dimensions, and the restoration is designed individually on the computer. It is then milled from a ceramic block. Depending on the findings, crowns, inlays or partial crowns, for example, can be fitted in a single visit. In many cases this means that neither a conventional impression nor a temporary restoration is needed.
How long does CEREC treatment take?
The length of treatment depends on the type and extent of the restoration. In suitable cases the whole treatment, including digital scanning, design, production and fitting, can be completed in one visit. We will discuss with you beforehand how much time to allow.
How do CEREC crowns differ from conventional crowns?
A key advantage of CEREC is digital planning and the ability to make the restoration directly in the practice. In suitable cases this allows treatment to be completed in one appointment. Often there is no need for a temporary restoration or a conventional impression. The digital design allows an individually adapted shape. Whether this method is suitable for your tooth depends on the findings.
Is CEREC more expensive than conventional restorations?
The cost of a CEREC restoration depends, among other things, on the type of restoration and the individual effort involved. The digital production process can save additional laboratory steps and further appointments. However, this does not automatically make it cheaper than other methods. Before treatment we will inform you transparently about the expected costs and what your health insurance may cover.
Anxious patients
More about this serviceShould I be ashamed of my fear of the dentist?
No, not at all. Fear of the dentist is not unusual and nothing to be ashamed of. It matters to us that you can talk openly about your worries and feel that your concerns are understood.
How can I prepare for a dental visit if I am anxious?
It can help to mention your fears when you book your appointment. That way we can adapt to your needs. Allow enough time and talk to us openly before the treatment about what worries you. Together we can think about how to make your visit more comfortable.
Can I find out beforehand exactly what will be done?
Yes, of course. We explain the planned treatment steps in a way that is easy to understand and answer your questions. You decide together with us how to proceed and have the opportunity to raise your wishes and concerns.
What can I do if my fear of the dentist is particularly severe?
If your fear is very strong and you can hardly bring yourself to have necessary treatment, please talk to us about it openly. Together we will discuss possible support and suitable treatment options. Depending on the situation, further counselling may also be helpful.
The first step is often the hardest. We would like to make it easier for you and meet you with understanding, patience and personal care. Feel free to book an appointment – we take time for you and your concerns.
Book an appointment onlineDental implants
More about this serviceHow long do dental implants last?
With good care and regular dental check-ups, dental implants can last many years, often even decades. How long they actually last depends on various factors, including the condition of the bone, general health, oral hygiene and individual risk factors. Careful implant care and regular follow-up contribute significantly to keeping them in the long term.
What are dental implants made of?
Dental implants are mostly made of titanium or ceramic, usually zirconium oxide. Titanium is known for being well tolerated and for bonding reliably with the jawbone. Ceramic implants can be an alternative for certain patients. Which material is most suitable depends on the individual starting situation and the aims of treatment.
Are dental implants better than bridges or dentures?
Implants, bridges and dentures offer different ways of replacing missing teeth. Implants are anchored in the jawbone and can help to restore chewing function and appearance. Unlike a conventional bridge, an implant-supported restoration usually does not require the neighbouring teeth to be ground down. Which restoration suits you best depends, among other things, on the number of missing teeth, the condition of the bone and your individual needs. We will be happy to advise you on the different treatment options.
Is having a dental implant placed painful?
An implant is usually placed under local anaesthetic, so there is generally no pain during the procedure. Afterwards there may be temporary swelling, slight bleeding or soreness. This discomfort can usually be managed well and often subsides within a few days. We will give you individual advice on aftercare and on dealing with any discomfort.
Professional teeth cleaning
More about this serviceWhat does professional teeth cleaning involve?
Professional teeth cleaning thoroughly removes soft and hard deposits as well as surface stains. The tooth surfaces are then cleaned and polished. Depending on individual needs, fluoride can also be applied to strengthen the enamel. Professional cleaning complements your daily oral hygiene and helps to maintain your oral health in the long term.
Book an appointment onlineHow often should professional teeth cleaning be done?
How often professional cleaning makes sense depends on your individual oral health and your risk of tooth decay and periodontitis. For some patients an interval of six to twelve months is enough, while shorter intervals may be advisable if the risk is higher. We will be happy to advise you and recommend a treatment rhythm suited to your needs.
Is professional teeth cleaning painful?
Professional teeth cleaning is usually well tolerated. If your teeth are sensitive or your gums inflamed, you may feel slight pressure or temporary sensitivity during treatment. Please let us know if you feel any discomfort so that we can make the treatment as comfortable as possible.
Does professional teeth cleaning make my teeth whiter?
Because deposits and surface stains are removed, teeth can look cleaner and brighter after professional cleaning. Their natural colour, however, does not change. If you would like your teeth to be noticeably lighter, professional bleaching may be a suitable option. We will be happy to advise you on the different options.

Children's dentistry
More about this serviceAt what age should my child first see the dentist?
The first visit to the dentist should take place as early as possible – ideally once the first milk tooth has come through, and within the first year of life at the latest. This lets us follow your child’s dental development from an early stage, spot possible risks and advise you on good tooth care and a tooth-friendly diet. At the same time, your child gets used to the dental practice in a playful way.
Children’s dentistryHow does fear of the dentist develop in children?
Fear of the dentist can have various causes. These include, for example, unpleasant experiences, fear of unfamiliar situations or fears passed on within the family. Sensitive care, child-friendly explanations of each step of treatment and positive experiences can help to build trust and reduce fear. Our aim is to make visiting the dentist as pleasant as possible for your child.
Anxious patientsHow does diet affect my child’s dental health?
A balanced, tooth-friendly diet is crucial for healthy teeth to develop. Frequent sugar intake encourages tooth decay, especially when sugary foods or drinks are consumed throughout the day. Cutting down on sweets and sugary drinks and choosing water as the preferred drink can help to lower the risk of decay. A completely sugar-free diet is not necessary for this.
Can my child get tooth decay despite brushing regularly?
Yes, tooth decay can develop even with regular brushing. Besides oral hygiene, what matters includes brushing technique, the use of fluoride toothpaste, eating habits and individual susceptibility to decay. Even the very first milk tooth can be affected. That is why age-appropriate tooth care, help from parents and regular dental check-ups are particularly important.
Teeth whitening
More about this serviceWhat is bleaching?
Bleaching is professional tooth whitening, in which the natural colour of the teeth is lightened with special whitening agents. Unwanted discolouration is reduced, so the teeth can look lighter and the smile fresher. How much lighter they become depends on their original colour and their individual structure.
Teeth whiteningHow long does the result of professional whitening last?
Depending on individual circumstances and lifestyle, the result of professional bleaching can last from several months to a few years. Coffee, tea, red wine and smoking can encourage new discolouration. Good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups help to keep the result for as long as possible.
Is bleaching harmful to the teeth?
When carried out professionally and after a prior dental examination, bleaching is generally considered safe for suitable patients. Even so, temporary tooth sensitivity or irritation of the gums can occur. That is why teeth and gums should be examined before treatment and any dental disease treated first.
Is bleaching treatment painful?
Most patients find professional whitening easy to tolerate. During or after treatment, however, the teeth may be temporarily sensitive or slightly uncomfortable. This usually passes. If your teeth are already sensitive, we will be happy to advise you on suitable treatment options.
