Dental implants – natural-looking replacement teeth with a long-term perspective

Dental implants have become an essential part of modern dentistry. They make it possible to replace missing teeth as naturally as possible while sparing the natural neighbouring teeth. Unlike conventional solutions, an implant-supported restoration often means that healthy neighbouring teeth do not have to be ground down. In many cases, removable dentures can also be avoided.

Our aim is to restore your ability to chew, your appearance and your quality of life, and to give you a smile that looks as natural and harmonious as possible.

Implant treatment generally consists of two coordinated parts: the surgical placement of the implant and the prosthetic restoration that follows. Once the implant has healed in, it is fitted with the restoration made for it – for example a crown, bridge or denture.

Careful planning is the foundation for successful implant treatment that remains stable over the long term. That is why we look not only at the tooth to be replaced, but at the entire area of teeth and jaw. A detailed medical history and thorough diagnostics help us take your individual circumstances into account, identify possible risks early and coordinate the individual steps of treatment as well as possible.

For planning we use a 3D X-ray unit (CBCT) to make treatment as precise and transparent as possible. With clear digital animations we can show you the individual steps of the therapy and the intended result.

We take time for your questions and advise you in detail on which implant options are suitable for your individual situation.

Frequently asked questions

All frequently asked questions
  • How long do dental implants last?

With good care and regular dental check-ups, dental implants can last many years, often even decades. How long they actually last depends on various factors, including the condition of the bone, general health, oral hygiene and individual risk factors. Careful implant care and regular follow-up contribute significantly to keeping them in the long term.

  • What are dental implants made of?

Dental implants are mostly made of titanium or ceramic, usually zirconium oxide. Titanium is known for being well tolerated and for bonding reliably with the jawbone. Ceramic implants can be an alternative for certain patients. Which material is most suitable depends on the individual starting situation and the aims of treatment.

  • Are dental implants better than bridges or dentures?

Implants, bridges and dentures offer different ways of replacing missing teeth. Implants are anchored in the jawbone and can help to restore chewing function and appearance. Unlike a conventional bridge, an implant-supported restoration usually does not require the neighbouring teeth to be ground down. Which restoration suits you best depends, among other things, on the number of missing teeth, the condition of the bone and your individual needs. We will be happy to advise you on the different treatment options.

  • Is having a dental implant placed painful?

An implant is usually placed under local anaesthetic, so there is generally no pain during the procedure. Afterwards there may be temporary swelling, slight bleeding or soreness. This discomfort can usually be managed well and often subsides within a few days. We will give you individual advice on aftercare and on dealing with any discomfort.
